Large Correctives Wind Turbine Technician

Due to continued expansion, we wish to appoint a Wind Turbine Technician to work within the Large Correctives Team.
The role would be to assist the Engineering Department in the delivery of all Large Corrective tasks as requested by our client base throughout the UK/Ireland region. The successful candidate will be required to provide technical assistance to help to resolve ongoing issues or to implement improvements. We are looking for candidates who have a technical background in mechanical and or electrical systems, preferably in a turbine discipline, which should include:
· Lead and be part of main component replacement teams
· Working knowledge of gearbox inspections an advantage.
· Working knowledge of specialised equipment such as vibration, Ultrasound, bore scope and thermal imaging and other NDT tools an advantage
· Proficient in analytical fault finding
· Can assist with the resolution of onsite technical issues and implement technical improvements
· Identify and specifying tooling requirements
· Preparation of reporting templates and other technical documentation
· Has worked in a health and safety focused environment.
Candidates should be IT literate with a strong working knowledge of the MS Office suite. Experience in heavy lifting operations within the wind industry would also be advantageous.
Candidates must have a minimum of a professional qualification or equivalent experience in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline. For this position a full driving licence is essential, as is the ability to travel in the UK and Ireland for periods during the week.

V80 Experienced Wind Turbine Technician (Based in Ireland)
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

B9 Energy O&M Ltd is the UK and Ireland’s largest independent wind farm Operation and Maintenance Company. We are looking for candidates who have a technical background in mechanical and or electrical systems. At least 3 years’ experience of V80 wind turbine maintenance is a requirement and holding of WTSR AT or AE authorisation would be highly advantageous.
This role offers a full time permanent contract on successful completion of a 6 month probationary period. Normal hours of work are 40 hours per week on site, Monday to Friday. The successful applicant will be required to work overtime on occasions and provide weekend cover on a rotation basis which also includes providing a remote monitoring / reset service.
Candidates must have a National Craft Certificate, HNC or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering environment or have a minimum of five years’ experience working in an electro/mechanical/ engineering environment. It is essential that candidates have a good understanding of the English language both written and verbal.
The principal duties of a Wind Turbine Technician are to: carry out site operational and maintenance duties including both scheduled and unscheduled turbine maintenance; respond to breakdown calls; site safety and environmental management. A detailed job description can be provided upon request.
For these positions, a full driving licence is essential as is a good degree of physical fitness because the wind farm sites are in relatively remote locations and the candidates must be confident to work at height and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. The candidates must also be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft office and word.
