Wind Farm Site Manager: Cumbria
 
Salary: Negotiable depending on industry experience, benefits include pension scheme, medical and life insurance.                         
 
The B9 Energy group of Companies operates and maintains a number of renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland. B9 O&M is currently the largest independent wind farm operation and maintenance Company in the UK. We currently wish to appoint a wind farm site manager which will primarily cover four wind farms in the Cumbria area.
 
The principal duty of a Wind Farm Site Manager is the local, on site management of the wind farm owner’s operational risks, be they technical, safety, environmental, etc. The site manager will be supported in the delivery of this function by the company’s wider supporting structure and resources.
 
Typical duties will include:
 
  • Managing & controlling all work on site
  • Co-ordinating all planned and unplanned maintenance, inspection and repair
  • Inspecting contractors’ documentation such as risk assessments, method statements, lifting plans.
  • Identification and management of critical spares
  • Implementing the site Health Safety and Environmental plans
  • Maintaining site emergency plan
  • Carrying out site inspections & routine site safety & behavioural audits
  • Reporting and investigating all accidents/incidents
  • Maintaining records such as environmental compliance, accident/incident reports, statutory inspections, PPE inspections
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with the windfarm owner and representatives.
  • Site reporting, daily, monthly, annually
 
Candidates should have experience in engineering / technical management environment, if possible. In addition, a full driving licence is also essential due to the site locations as is a reasonable degree of physical fitness, as the successful candidate must be able to climb wind turbines as part of the on-site quality obligations, as part of their overall management duties. Proficiency with computer use is essential – Microsoft Office and preferably some asset management software experience.

Wind Turbine Technician – East Ayrshire / South Lanarkshire
Salary: £22k - £24k depending on experience, benefits include pension scheme, medical and life insurance

B9 Energy O&M Ltd is the UK and Ireland’s largest independent wind farm Operation and Maintenance Company. We currently wish to appoint an additional Wind Turbine Technician for a wind farm in the East Ayrshire / South Lanarkshire area.
 
The principal duties of a Wind Turbine Technician are to: carry out site operational and maintenance duties including both scheduled and unscheduled turbine maintenance; respond to breakdown calls; site safety and environmental management.  Previous experience in Bonus 600 wind turbine maintenance would be preferable but is not essential.
 
Candidates must have a minimum of an NVQ level 3 in an electrical and/or mechanical engineering discipline and experience in an electro/mechanical engineering environment. For these positions a full driving licence is essential as is a good degree of physical fitness because the wind farm is in a relatively remote location and the candidates must be confident to work periodically at height and occasionally in adverse weather conditions. The candidates must also be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft office and word.
